THE STORY
SEARCHING FOR TIMBUCTOO tells the little-known story of a Black settlement, established in the wilds of upstate New York, that brought together a group of ardent abolitionists willing to risk their fortunes, their families, and their futures to destroy slavery.
Little did they know that by coming together, they would help tear the nation apart.

THE SEARCH
The film also follows archaeologist Dr. Hadley Kruczek-Aaron, and her team, on a month-long expedition to unearth the long-lost settlement buried deep in the rugged Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York.
Now, Dr. K-A and her team have been granted rare permission to break ground at a historic site:
John Brown's Farm.
And our cameras document their discoveries.
THE FILMMAKER
Paul Miller is a writer, filmmaker and photographer based in upstate New York. As a 20-year veteran of broadcast and cable television, he has worked for national shows and networks, including The History Channel, National Geographic Channel, PBS, and The Oprah Winfrey Show.
